Active Sync Error of Microsoft !

Microsoft Active Sync 4.0 or 4.1 is used while synchronizing data from Windows mobile device to computer. It is one of the most effective and efficient way to transferring data, but at times it may not work properly and forcefully doing so may result into serious error messages like –

"ActiveSync encountered an error with the desktop – Support Code: 85010014"

Apart from the reason mentioned above, active sync error can also be received when Windows device is synchronized with Microsoft Exchange server and it may due to one of the following reasons –

  • Offline mode of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Application data folder redirection.
  • Outlook script blocking by antivirus software.
  • Incorrect registration of active sync to Outlook.

Since, this issue is very serious, proper measures should be taken to resolve this problem. Some of them are as follows –

  • Verify whether you are using latest version of active sync or not.
  • Ensure that the Outlook versions that you are using say 2000, 2002 & 2003 is supported.
  • Whether you are using local PST file of Outlook running Microsoft exchange server.
  • Find and repair the errors, if there is in Outlook’s PST file.
  • Check if the errors which are in Outlook are rectified and it is working properly.
  • Scan the PST file and repair any issues found in the Outlook data file.
