Repair PST File When MS Outlook Cannot Expand the Folder!

The name of the PST file may vary with different operating system version and different Outlook version you are using. So, as first attempt to repair the corrupt PST file you need to try it with inbuilt Scanpst.exe tool and to start the proceedings just –

  • Go to ‘Start’ > ‘Run’ and type drive:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\LocaleID\scanpst.exe in the open box and then click ‘OK’.
  • Enter the name of the PST file that you want to scan along with its path.
  • Now click ‘Start’ button and after completion of scanning click on ‘Repair’ button to repair the corrupt PST file. But before that make sure you backup the PST file well before repairing.
